Abstract Submission

Contributed oral and poster presentations on any subject within the conference scope are welcome. Send your one-page, publication-ready abstract (PDF or Word format) as an email attachment to pxrms@esrf.fr.

In the body of the email message please be sure to indicate:

Abstracts will be reviewed in late October, and acceptance notification will be provided by email. Please note that, unfortunately, it will not be possible to make any early decisions regarding abstract acceptance.

Abstract Format

There are no formal requirements for formatting, but please understand that we will use your abstract as-is (as we do not have the resources to edit each abstract we receive): a printed copy of your abstract will be included in the meeting digest, and a PDF version of your abstract will be published on the conference web site.

Oral Presentations

A computer projector (to be used with your own laptop computer) will be provided.

Poster Presentations

Your poster should fit within an area 112 cm (44 in.) wide x 175 cm (69 in.) high.

The registration fee for regular and student attendees includes the Sunday evening welcome reception, breakfasts and morning breaks Monday through Thursday, dinners Monday through Wednesday, attendance at all sessions, and a hardcopy of the meeting digest. Registration fees for accompanying guests include meals only: the Sunday evening welcome reception, breakfasts Monday through Thursday, and dinners Monday through Wednesday.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS for PXRMS'08 will be handled by the Big Sky Resort.

Rooms are being held under the name PXRMS'08 and special rates have been negotiated for this meeting.  All accommodation options listed below are within walking distance (<5 min) to both the meeting and the Big Sky ski area base.  While there may be less expensive hotels some distance away (thus requiring a car and parking difficulties), we strongly encourage you to reserve your rooms through Big Sky Resort (especially since the PXRMS organizers are subject to a large financial penalty if we do not fill our room block!)

There are a variety of room types and rates available within four different hotels at the resort. When you call to reserve, the reservations agent can assist you in finding the accommodation that best meets your needs.

Above rates do not include tax and service fees which total approximately 17%.

Travel & Recreation

Big Sky Resort is located in southwestern Montana, close to both Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. The closest major population center is Bozeman (home of Montana State University), located less than 50 miles away. There are more than 100 jet flights per week to the Bozeman airport, with an easy drive to Big Sky.

Lift Tickets:

 

PXRMS’08 has negotiated discounted lift tickets for Big Sky resort.  Big Sky Resort lift tickets will be available at the discounted rate of $55 per adult, per day (regular rate is $75/day) to PXRMS’08 attendees registered in accommodations through Big Sky Inc.  Lone Peak Pass lift tickets (ski Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin on one ticket) will be available as well, at the discounted rate of $68 per adult, per day (regular price is $89/day).
